SOUTHBURY -- State police trooper John "The Meat Train" Artes looked ill.
BY SAM COOPER REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN

Three minutes earlier, he'd been gyrating to Survivor's hit song "Eye of the Tiger" that blasted over the loud speakers at Leo's Restaurant as he stuffed hot dogs in his mouth two at time, followed by a handful of soggy buns he'd dipped in a pitcher of water. Eight dogs later, his face had begun to pale, and his eyes were watering.
"This is the face of Connecticut law enforcement!" joked TIC 96.5 radio disc jockey Damon Scott, as Artes dug into dogs number nine and 10, gasping between mouthfuls.
